Korean Alphabet 한글

     Hangul was created by the great King Sejong of Lee Dynasty in the 15th century for the purpose of enlightening illiterate people.  At the time it was created, Hangul consisted 14 consonants and 10 vowels, with a total of 24 alphabets.


Vowels 모음
아(a)  야(ya)  어(eo)  여(yeo)  오(o)  요(yo)  우(u)  유(yu)  으(eu)  이(i)

Consonants 자음
ㄱ(k,g,k)  ㄴ(n)  ㄷ(t,d,t)  ㄹ(r,r,l)  ㅁ(m)  ㅂ(p,b,p)  ㅅ(s,s,t)  ㅇ(no sound, ng)
ㅈ(ch,j,t)  ㅊ(ch,ch,t)  ㅋ(hard k)  ㅌ(hard t)  ㅍ(hard p)  ㅎ(h)

Compound Vowels
애(eh)  얘(yeh)  에(eh)  예(yeh)  와(wa)  왜(we)  외(we)
