Kimchi 김치

One of the best known traditional Korean dishes is the Kimchi.  Until now, every Koreans still serve kimchi at almost every meal.  It is a fermented dish made of vegetables with varied seasonings.   Despite being spicy, you will still love the salty, sour, and sweet taste.   The fermentation process produces the amino acid and lactic acid which makes it a healthy food.  And together make the special flavor of kimchi.

Bulgogi 불고기

One of my favorite in Korean food is the Bulgogi 불고기 (Korean Beef Barbecue).  It is thinly slice, sweet and salty in flavor, and cooked on the grill.  It is usually wrap in lettuce and combined with side dishes.

Believed to have originated in Goguryeo era (37BC-668AD), originally called maekjeok (맥적).  In the Joseon Dynasty, it was called neobiani (너비아니) meaning thinly spread meat and was traditionally prepared for the wealthy and nobility class.
